Letter Names & Sounds: Reviewing Aa - Hh. For Trimester 1, hopefully the owls will
have 8 letters both capital and lower case down :o)
Computer Lab!!! :o) Hooray!!! The lab is finally available. We are working on
ABC Mouse reviewing all the letters. The owls also get to explore words/things
that begin with the letter as well as learn more fun songs to help remember their
ABCs ;o)
Sing, Spell, Read & Write: This is another phonics program that we use to learn the letter
names and sounds. You will see practice sheets coming home soon with this program's
activities :o) There is a phonics page, picture dictionary page and a handwriting page.
So far, we've done Aa, Bb & Cc & Dd & Ee, Ff, Gg & Hh. Hopefully the owls will
have mastered 8 capital and its lower case letter name and sound.

Ella Elephant: 8 pieces! Almost there ;o)
Handwriting Without Tears: This is another fine motor skill practice where your little one
uses the jumbo crayons to color in specific colored pictures. The purpose of this is for their
little fingers and wrists to develop and build-up stamina in their fine motor muscles ;o)
We've moved on to different colors & shapes. Red, blue, yellow, pink, green,
black, white, brown & purple. NOTE: We've also read & sang about each color.
See which color song your little owl remembers or likes :0) Shapes: circle,
square, triangle, oval & rectangle so far ;o)
High Frequency Word: I The owls are learning that the capital letter I can also be used
as a word, "I". Our favorite way to practice this is of course, to sing! :o)
"Oh I know _______!" Tune: The-Famer-in-the-Dell. We sing this Name Song during
our Morning Meeting Greeting. In TK & K, the High Frequency Words will only need to be
recognized. Knowing how to spell the HFWs will be expected in first grade. We've moved
on to: see & a :o) We wrote another Journal Page! Yay! Sentence #1: I see a ______.
We also read our first little book: I See Me!
