In the meantime, we'd like to introduce you to the Maidu/Excelsior PTC!
The MEPTC helps Maidu and Excelsior schools by supporting programs both financially and with volunteer support. Each year we help schools purchase supplies, pay for assemblies, and offset field trip cost. We also support programs such as art docent and put on events such as book fair. The number of activities the PTC supports is directly correlated to the amount of volunteer support we have. All parents of students at Maidu and Excelsior are members of the PTC.
Are you interested in becoming a member of the MEPTC board? Nominations for the 2015-2016 board are now open.
Board Positions include:
- President: Coordinate the work of officers and committees; preside at all meetings of the P.T.C., serve as representative of the PTC to the district. Time commitment approximately 15 hours a week.
- Excelsior Vice-President: Represent Excelsior at PTC meetings and oversee the PTC events that happen at Excelsior. Time commitment: varies between 5-10 hours a week.
- Treasurer: Responsible for maintaining the record books and the bank accounts for the organization. Responsible for conducting an annual audit and submitting the PTC's taxes. Time commitment: between 6-16 hours a month.
- Secretary: Record, distribute and post the minutes of each meeting and assist the president with the agenda distribution and correspondence when needed. Time commitment: approximately 8 hours a month.

Although they are the Maidu/Excelsior PTC, they have specific volunteer needs for each location. For example, they host a Jog-a-Thon at Excelsior that is in desperate need of helpers each year. They also host the Splash Into Summer traditional pool party on the last day of school which requires a large volunteer base. Get involved at Excelsior and keep the Greenhills spirit of volunteerism alive!

Want something to do on the last day of school but don't have time to plan something? The Maidu/Excelsior PTC has done it for you! Everyone join us at Johnson Ranch, South Side, on June 8th for a fun filled afternoon celebrating the beginning of Summer.

Needing something to eat? We will have variety of delicious food and drinks for sale.

If you have time to volunteer to help on the day of the event or know a student in 7th grade and above that would be willing to help out, just put your name and email on the form and someone from the committee will be contacting you.
